Late Music Concert Series: Lost Songs
New musical settings by living composers of mischievous and passionate lyrics written by the troubadours and trobairitz of 12th and 13th century France, whose words survived to our present day though their melodies did not.  A delicious selection of elegant cansos (love songs), humorous tensos (debate songs) and erotic albas (dawn songs), Lost Songs will be sung in Old Occitan and semi-staged with english translations and illuminations.  This will be a professional performance of our MA recital of the same name, but also includes several premiers recently added to the project by composers such as William Brooks and Roger Marsh.  Tickets will be available through the NCEM website.

Music for English Consorts
We're working with the University of York student viol consort to develop a programme of music for viols and voices.  Likely to include works by Orlando Gibbons, William Byrd, and Thomas Tomkins.  More information posted here when known.

Buxton Festival Fringe Concerts
We had such a lovely time in Buxton this past summer that we already intend to return next year.  It's too early to be very specific, but we're looking into forbidden sacred music for the cave, and/or a set of English Baroque shepherd and shepherdess dialogues in a different venue.  Check here for more information in January.
